How to Turn Facebook Lead Ads into Houseler Customers (No Retyping)

What you'll build

• Trigger: Facebook Lead Ads → *New Lead*
• Search + Action: Houseler → *Find Customer* (then *Create Customer* if not found)

Step 1 — Trigger on a new Facebook lead

1. Create a Zap; choose Facebook Lead Ads → New Lead.
2. Connect Facebook and pick your Page + lead form. Test to pull a recent lead.

Step 2 — Find or create the customer in Houseler

You want to *add* new people without creating a second record for someone who already exists. Houseler's unique key is the phone number, so:

1. Add a Houseler → Find Customer search step.
2. Map the lead's phone to the search.
3. Turn on "Create Houseler customer if it doesn't exist yet" and map: - firstName / lastName → the lead's name - phone → the lead's phone - email → the lead's email

Now a brand-new lead becomes a new Houseler customer, and a repeat lead just matches the one you already have — no duplicates.

Good to know

• Phone format: Houseler expects a US phone (e.g. +15551234567 or 5551234567). If your form collects phones loosely, add a Formatter → Phone step to normalize them.
• Timing: this runs off Facebook's trigger, so it fires as soon as Zapier receives the lead from Facebook.

Close the loop

Add another action to text or email the lead a welcome, or to notify yourself in Slack — so a new lead gets a fast, human response while it's still warm.
